Venango Chamber Orchestra                3.22.09
The Venango Chamber Orchestra held its spring concert  recently at the
Barrow-Civic Theatre.  Over 200 people attended the event, which
featured almost 50 musicians from throughout the region.  Selections
included movements by Mozart, Haydn, Dukas, Elgar and Borodin.  A
medley of  Duke Ellington arranged for orchestra included Sophisticated
Lady" and "It Don't Mean a Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing)."
There are eight original members of the
Chamber Orchestra.  They include:
Nancy Simpson - (Concertmistress),  
First Violin, ElaineArmstrong -
Principal Second Violin, Janet Loring -
Principal Violoncello, Dennis Butler -
Principal Double Bass, Cheryl Butler
and Jane Bradshaw - Clarinet, and
Edwin Frye and Lynanne Gardinier -
Bassoon.
The next concert for the Orchestra will be
held at the Barrow on Sunday, November 8,

Bassoonists and original members Lynanne Gardinier
and Edwin Frye are both from Franklin.
