Lady Berries Down the She-Wolves Capture District 9 Class AA Title!
|
March 5, 2010
Cranberry defended their D-9 crown with
ease, crushing Kane in the District 9 Finals at
Clarion University. The Berries (22-3) led by
double-digit margins throughout much of the
contest, although the Wolves closed the gap to
four in the third quarter. That was as close as
Kane ever got, with Cranberry going on a run
to close out the third with a comfortable lead,
36-23.
The Lady Berries are now on a twenty game
winning streak, and will play Friday (TBA) en
route to a state title. Coach Chris Shumaker is
an alumni of the championship Berry teams of
the early nineties, an experience that could
prove helpful in their title quest.
