A Gala Performance for the Barrow-Civic Theatre
Franklin Civic Operetta Association celebrated the glorious music
of Rodgers & Hammerstein in a one night gala performance of
"Black Tie Barrow" at the Barrow-Civic Theatre on Friday,
November 19.  Twenty local bright lights took to the stage for the
annual fund raiser.

The evening began with a champagne and chocolate reception in
the main lobby (provided  by Hot Pepper Catering), which was
decorated with a beautiful display of over 30 Christmas trees.

Crowd-pleasing songs from Sound of Music, Carousel, South
Pacific, The King & I, Oklahoma, and State Fair in Act I, and
selections from Annie Get Your Gun, West Side Story, Wicked,
Hairspray, and My Fair Lady in Act II.

Katie Kirby performed several solos as
well as group numbers. Her duet with
Harrison Keenan (below) was from The
King & I, "Getting To Know You."

Virtuoso Dennis Geib performed "Carousel Waltz" from the musical Carousel, mesmerizing the appreciative Barrow crowd.
Marcy Lusher and her
multi-talented daughter,
Julia, sang "My Favorite
Things" from The Sound of
Music.
Kevin Downey charmed
the ladies with the My
Fair Lady song, "On the
Street Where You Live."
Lyric McCommon sang
"My Heart Will Go On"
from the movie Titanic,  
the song that made her
the crowd favorite at the
"Franklin Idol"
Competition over the
summer, where she took
first place.

performed "Show
Me" from  My
Fair Lady.
Jim Williams, the host
of the evening, thanked
the show's inimitable
director, Tammi Dahl
of Franklin.
Dennis Geib accompanied Chuck Gilmore (from left), Samuel DePalma and Nancy Fox during "Climb Every
Mountain" from The Sound of Music. The rousing rendition served as the show's powerful finale.
The all-star cast of local performers were rewarded
with a standing ovation from the delighted audience.
