"Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" was performed over Applefest
weekend at the Barrow-Civic Theatre. Some of Joseph's brothers (and an impatient
lamb) reminisce on the good times they once shared with their now enslaved brother.

The Franklin Civic Operetta Assn.'s summer musical is an award-winning Broadway production
promises to greatly entertain, thanks to a stellar veteran cast that includes Bret Sloan, Nick Mitchell
Suzi Beach and Terri Gilmore. This brilliant musical comedy, set in the 1950s on the French Riviera,
will have you laughing out loud and humming as you leave! Directed by Peter Greene, with musical
direction by Kristen Criado and choreography by Marc Ellis Holland.
Also starring Alan Anderson, Suzi Orr Beach and Jodi Hoover.
This show is rated PG-13, due to adult language and content.
The Oil Valley Center for the Arts (click for link) in
downtown Oil City has openings in the following
workshops open to adults and teens.  Workshops are held
in the historic National Transit Building at 206 Seneca
Street.  Advance registration for all sessions is required
and may be made by sending payment of the Class Fee
(check payable to OVCA) to OVCA Classes/M.Karns at
206 Seneca Street, Oil City, PA  16301.  Materials Fee
may be paid directly to instructor in class. More

May 7  BASIC JEWELRY “WIRING”and “WRAPPING”
with Gary Rhoades  10-12:00 noon  and 1:00-3:00
These are two separate classes & you may select to take
either of them or both! The morning session includes
learning to make simple loops, wrapped loops,  S-hooks,
head pins & more and make a pair of earrings to wear
home! In the afternoon session you will learn how to
wrap a stone or cabochon to make a great necklace!  Bring
your own stone or purchase one  (extra $) from instructor.

PORCELAIN PAINTING and STAINED GLASS
An experimental class in 2010...now back by popular
demand! Create a project by painting on fired glass with
Linda & then frame your glass with stained glass with
Dorothy.  No prior painting experience
required but students need prior glass work.

May 14-15  “THE BEAUTY OF SPRING”
A PASTEL PAINTING WORKSHOP
with Carol McDonald   10:00-4:00
A weekend workshop for all levels of painters to create
some
colorful Spring scenes.  Bring some Spring photos or
pictures for reference. & your soft  pastels and enjoy this
class which will consist of demos, tips, lots of painting
time & critiques! The potential of this medium is
unlimited.

May 21  STAINED GLASS..BASICS of LAMPSHADE-
MAKING
with Dorothy Mitchell     9:00-4:00
During this one-day class, students will construct a small
stained glass lampshade to complement each individual’s
décor.  Participants must have
a working knowledge of copper-foil construction.

June 1,8,15,22,29, & July 6   PHOTOGRAPHY
“From Snapshots to Art”  with Mike Henderson   7:00-9:

This is a six-week workshop plus 2 photo “shoots” in the
field with photographer Mike Henderson. Whether you
got a new camera or just want to fine-tune your existing
skills, don’t miss this class!
